And so it begins: my second attempt at playing, capturing and writing posting a legacy to the internet. :) My previous attempt, the Lindsworths, didn't make it past generation 1.2 (*hides in embarrassment*) because reasons, so I'm hoping to at least be able to top that this time around...

A word of warning before you open the cut:
One of the main things that draws me to posting, and looking at, a legacy is being able to get bigger, higher quality pictures than Tumblr allows... and I like my pictures quite big. Not to say very big... so if you have a very slow internet connection, or if you live somewhere where they cap internet, you might want to reconsider clicking the read more - but it's up to you! There's 85 pictures total. :3

Let's just jump right in!

Madeleine Greenfield is my legacy founder, a sim I innocently made in Bodyshop with no real intention of using or even putting into my game, but here we are. x) These things tend to get out of hand.

Madeleine's stats:

Pleasure / Family
Cancer, 6 - 4 - 5 - 4 - 6
LTW: Game Designer

+ Glasses, Creative
- Jewlery

Madeleine's legacy shack is in an empty neighborhood named Whiteridge, with my usual empty templates and no premades business going on. Here's phase one of the Greenfield legacy house:

and a floor plan:

You might be able to notice that the house is slightly different in the first couple of shots - I built it and started playing and then decided to change the way I edit pictures (derp), and for continuity reasons decided to re-shoot the house / interior shots since I'd already edited those and saved over the originals. BUT THAT IS UNIMPORTANT, LET'S CARRY ON otherwise this will take forever to get through.

As mentioned, Madeleine LTWs a career in the gaming industry, but I absolutely never have any luck with the online job finder for my starter-sims, so she has to "settle" for a temporary job in show business. x) I bet that's why anyone gets into that business!

Anxiously awaiting the welcome wagon:

Here they come!

I didn't bother remembering the name of the first guy seen above (spoiler alert:) but I did remember this hunk's name... ;) This is Alder.

Madeleine is 100% uninterested in sim social-ness though, and instead befriends a stray dog for no apparent reason.

This mouth animation, eeee~

Alder stuck around all day, despite the fact that Madeleine routinely ignored him... I'm not saying he is but he's definitely a keeper (I said it)

same-face bedtime :)
(I'm not really sure if "same-face" is a thing outside of my head, but it's a term that came along for me from World of Warcraft because of [insert uninteresting anecdotal WoW story nobody cares about here] -- basically same-face for me is the stand still, dead expression, no movement or emotion -face that sims pull way more than they should in TS2... I'm sure we all know it, illustrated below:)

Don't chop your fingers off, Madeleine!

First day of work.

I may or may not have slightly underplayed how well Madeleine and Alder got along earlier, because he was happening by as Madeleine came home from work and they are definitely hitting it off. :)

Knock-on-wood-worthy second day online job finder luck: Madeleine is now a gold farmer. :) The pay is terrible, but you gotta start somewhere!

She has other things on her mind, though...

Any game designer worth her salt will have a decent amount of creativity skill points, so Madeleine's remaining funds barely scrapes together as enough to buy an easel.

Exciting prospect! ^_^

same-face.

same-face.
(see what I mean yet?)

Catching butterflies when she should be off to work. x)

Too poor to afford any decent logic skill building furniture, Madeleine is forced to resort to doing the crosswords... not very effective.

Oh, I see... it's because that's not even a crossword!

Madeleine wants to hang out with Alder, so she calls him up - and he wants to bring a friend!

Alder's hunk of a friend, Des... very suave indeed!

Somehow, Des is forgotten, though. :3

:')

And then this happened, in a shocking plot twist:

Which lead to me adding a screenshot background and making these two as alternatives:

Platinum Plumbbob Love :)

"Yeah, I like her... despite her laughable makeup, lol!"

"This isn't quite what I had in mind when I invited Alder over... I better keep a polite smile plastered on my face though..."

"To be honest, this isn't what I had in mind either, Madeleine!"

Enough beating around the bush, apparently. x) Go ACR, go!

There's that secondary family aspiration kicking in: Madeleine wants to propose to Alder!

I have made it my mission to not give townies in my legacy 'hood makeovers until after they've potentially moved in to join the legacy... Madeleine brought this overly Maxis Matchy friend home from work:

...and promptly started a waterballoon fight with her. :p

Anyway, back on subject: Madeleine is lacking in productive things to do, so this happened totally randomly without me staging it at all because I was getting bored with just one sim:

Cute though!

Well... I was hoping for a bit more help in this department, but oh well...

Introducing Alder Greenfield ^_^

Alder's stats:
Knowledge / Romance
Virgo, 9 - 2 - 6 - 3 - 5
LTW: Head of SCIA

+ Unemployed, Charismatic
- Good at Cleaning

Alder's first order of duty as a husband: wake his new wife up with the TV blasting in the middle of the night.

...but then she joins him instead of being angry, aww. :')

Alder starts his search for that dream job, but I think his head might be elsewhere...

With no luck on the job searching front, Alder decides to take their economic matters into his own hands (not to say shovel) and dig for treasure:

Score, a bone!

But then I remembered... TOWNIE INVENTORY! Maybe he secretly brought big bucks after all! But sadly, no such luck. :(

They kept the console but sold the rest. Not much help, but it's something.

Who is responsible for this?! You can't afford this to break :(

Sure, that will help your money troubles. x)

Alder's townie job is as a cat burglar - ironic since he wants to top the intelligence career, haha.

Turns out he has a few mechanical skill points though, and sets out to fix the broken computer. To be honest, that's how I fix mine as well - by pantomiming in the air with a screwdriver!

I love the bug collection box so much :')

Madeleine decides to try her luck...

A rock! That definitely deserves a same-face.

Money tree might help!

And then I discovered this: forget about potty training faces, harvesting-money-tree-face is where it's at~

Swooning at her husband.

Wait what?

Alder can't believe it either!

Better read up on some parenting, this can only lead down one road from here...

Home from work belly pop!

No preg morph on the skirt - shorts it is.

Midnight money-tree scavenging... Alder and Madeleine are sort of getting a bit desperate for cash, but you won't find out why until next time!

And that's it for now - and that's just as well, 85 pictures might be... a bit too much? I don't know. It actually feels like I took too few screenshots of some things (like their courtship), so that might be a problem in the future when this gets more eventful, haha. If I manage to continue this this time knock the hell on wood, I will give it my all!

Thanks for stopping by ^_^
